METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed charts 32 had one more vitro fertilization (IVF) ICSI cycles They were categorized into 3 subgroups according concentration: 5-20, 1-5 <1 million/mL respectively. cTESE was done for all groups. Nine patients group cycle proceeded mTESE. isolated used ICSI. RESULTS: For these patients, mean age 38.9±5.4 years. Sperm retrieval rate 100% both female partners showed no difference overall per 64.8% pregnancy 46.9%. underwent cTESE, rates 75%, 18.2% 15.4% In 9 group, mTESE 55.6% (p=0.047, compared group). There complication occurred after extraction. CONCLUSIONS: Testicular safe results much better ART failure Furthermore, may be considered an effective choice optimize severe patients. Microdissection testicular sperm extraction

Microdissection testicular sperm extraction (microTESE) is considered the gold standard method for surgical sperm retrieval among patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). In this review, we will discuss the optimal evaluation of NOA patients and strategies to medically optimize NOA patients prior to microTESE. In addition, we will also discuss technical principles and pearls to maximize...

Microdissection testicular sperm extraction: an update.

Patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) were once considered to be infertile with few treatment options due to the absence of sperm in the ejaculate. In the last two decades, the advent of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and the application of various testicular sperm retrieval techniques, including fine needle aspiration (FNA), conventional testicular sperm extraction (TESE) a...

Conventional multiple or microdissection testicular sperm extraction: a comparative study.

BACKGROUND Testicular sperm extraction (TESE) with ICSI is becoming the first-line treatment for non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). Recently, the sperm retrieval rate (SRR) by microdissection TESE was reported to be higher than by conventional TESE. However, a comprehensive comparison between multiple and microdissection TESE patients including histological findings has not been reported. MET...

Human chorionic gonadotrophin treatment prior to microdissection testicular sperm extraction in non-obstructive azoospermia.

BACKGROUND Despite the improved success rate of sperm retrieval by microdissection testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE), methods to stimulate spermatogenesis in men with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) remain unexplored. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of hCG-based hormonal stimulation in men with NOA on the success of sperm retrieval by micro-TESE. METHODS Forty-eight...
